  1. Hey guys! I’m struggling to find some good juice cleanse recipes. I totally trust your guidance; would you be able to send some ideas my way?

    • Hi Courtney!

Thanks for your question, juicing is a great way to give your body a break from the normal digestive processes that happen every day and to cleanse your body of toxins.

When you’re juicing you want to focus on doing more green juices so that you’re not overloading with sugar from fruits. You want to start your morning with a green juice – I like kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon and ginger to start off with. For a mid morning snack carrot, ginger, apple is a nice bright dose of vitamin C and antioxidants. For lunch you want to do another green juice, you can use the same recipe if you’re making your own juices, or you can add watercress, parsley, and/or collard greens. For a mid-afternoon snack I like grapefruit mint for a break from the greens. For dinner I like to get some beets in there for the fiber and antioxidants, so you can do beet, apple, ginger, lemon, or beet, kale, carrot, ginger, romaine, cucumber, celery. Beware though, beets are tough on a juicer so I try to use smaller ones to ease the stress on the juicer. After dinner you want to have an almond milk made with raw almonds, dates, vanilla stevia and filtered water. This is a nice sweet way to end the day with a good dose of protein.

Making your own juices is really exciting and very cost effective but we understand it does take a lot of time. There are many good juice cleanses that you can buy for a three-day cleanse that do wonders and cut out a lot of the work. Paleta and Pressed Juice are both good options to get your cleanse from, or your local co-op may have a program too. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
